Naturally the Republicans had nothing prepared.  It's not pivotal obviously, but I think the rapid coordination required to get the message out with such good timing is worth noting.

Perhaps this is par for the course, but I haven't noticed such good coordination before for a surprise move.  I hope it's a sign of how well oiled the democratic machine is starting to run.  I remember Reid made an announcement months ago about a media coordination centre he had set up for senate democrats.  Hope this is part of the result.
